If you have a child with an autism spectrum disorder, you know their struggles are real. From communicating to behaving properly in public and at home, autism takes what would be normal daily activities for anyone else and turns them into seemingly insurmountable challenges.
But at Mission Autism Clinics, we know those challenges are not impossible to overcome. Our ABA therapy programs have proven time and again that children with autism have it within themselves to achieve everything they need to live happy, healthy lives.
We tailor our programs to meet your child’s unique requirements, knowing that independence is possible with the right instruction.
If you’re wondering whether our autism services in Lancaster, PA, are right for your child, take a moment to learn about what we do at Mission Autism Clinics.
How Our ABA Therapy Programs Work
ABA therapy, or applied behavior analysis therapy, uses learning and behavior to change habits. Essentially, a therapist who uses ABA therapy to treat a child with autism attempts to encourage the child to increase positive behaviors and decrease negative ones.
This is done through positive reinforcement or a reward for every desired action that the child takes. Over time, the child learns which behaviors are desirable and which are not. The good news is that ABA therapy is adaptable to each child and situation and can be performed just about anywhere, including at home and school.
At Mission Autism Clinics, we offer autism services in Lancaster, PA: through our day program.
The program is for two-to-six-year-olds. Children in the program receive 30 weekly hours of ABA therapy that has been customized to them. The therapy is structured and similar to school learning. We find this to be the optimal setting for children to gain the skills they will need when they get older.
